The Story Behind Animal Magic - Meet Costin Stoica

When I moved from Romania to the United Kingdom in 2013, I arrived with one clear goal  to turn my passion for dogs into a career built on excellence, creativity and care.

I began my professional training at Dogs Delights Academy, under the guidance of the highly respected Julie Lalou Simpson. It was there that I developed the foundations of my grooming career and discovered a passion not only for making dogs look beautiful, but for understanding breed standards, coat texture, balance and the artistry behind exceptional grooming.

What started as a dream quickly became an obsession with continuous learning and improvement. Every dog, every competition and every challenge became another opportunity to grow.

In 2015, I entered my first grooming competition in the UK. Just two years later, I represented Great Britain at my first European competition, beginning an incredible journey that would take me to competitions across Europe and around the world.

Throughout my career I have been fortunate to win numerous national and international awards, represent Groom Team England, judge prestigious grooming competitions and deliver educational seminars to professional groomers across the UK, Europe and South America.

One of the proudest moments of my career was becoming a World Champion in Handstripping as part of Groom Team England, proving that dedication, perseverance and passion can truly achieve extraordinary results.

Today I am honoured to work as an International Grooming Judge, Seminar Speaker and Educator, helping groomers develop their own skills and confidence while continuing to learn myself.

I am also proud to be the Co-Founder of Groomphoria,  creating one of the UK's leading educational events dedicated to inspiring, educating and bringing together professional dog groomers from around the world.

Most recently, I had the privilege of working as the Grooming Advisor for Channel 5's Dogs Behaving Very Badly, supporting the production with professional grooming expertise and helping ensure the highest grooming standards throughout filming.

Despite everything my career has brought me, my greatest passion has never changed.

Animal Magic has always been about much more than beautiful haircuts. It is about creating a calm, safe and caring environment where every dog is treated with patience, kindness and respect.

Whether your dog visits us for a puppy introduction, a routine groom or a full breed-standard styling session, every appointment receives exactly the same attention to detail, professionalism and genuine love for dogs.
